GYBR 2017 Rider & Charity Presentations Report

The  GYBR 2014 Anniversary Presentations were held at Farnell element14 in Leeds on Saturday the 15th of November, hosted by John Taylorson MBE the Event Organiser.


The 2014 GYBR, a 70mile charity ride from Wetherby to Filey took place on the 15th of June. The 1,737 cyclists who took part this year have raised a final total of £113,460 which takes the total sum raised for charity by this event to £2,461,909


Awards were presented to the individual riders and teams who had raised the highest sponsorship by Paul Jackson of Farnell & Emma Brownridge of Brownridge Transport.


The top three Individual Totals were raised by Chris Emptage from Bielby, York with £1,379, Declan Wilson ofrom Wetherby with £1,619 and Andy Hunter from Ellerton, York with £3,642.


The top three Team Totals were raised by the Farnell element14 Team with £2,926 Hollybank Trust with £3,763 and Caravan Guard with £6,112. 


John Taylorson MBE presented the Special Awards to the Finish Logistics Team of Graham Taylorson & Chris Wood for their outstanding service to the event over many years


The cheques to the charities were presented by Paul Jackson of Farnell & Emma Brownridge of Brownridge Transport. The total of £111,834 (the total at the time of the presentations)was distributed between the following charities:-


PhysCap – Epilepsy Research UK – Heart Research UK – Candlelighters Trust – Hollybank Trust – Ryedale Mencap – Yorkshire Cancer Research – Wetherby Lions – Jennyruth Workshops – St John Ambulance
