GREAT YORKSHIRE BIKE RIDE PRESENTATIONS - 11th NOVEMBER 2007
A great crowd gathered at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Wetherby to celebrate another successful year for the event. The awards evening, hosted by the Event Organiser, John Taylorson MBE, celebrated the efforts of the riders and the commitment of the sponsor companies and the work put in by the recipient charities. The ride had struggled to beat the awful summer weather this year which had definitely put off some of the entry, but how it would affect the eventual proceeds of the ride were soon to be revealed to all.
Prizes were awarded to our top donating individual riders and teams, listed below and cheques for the proceeds of the 2007 ride were presented to the charity representatives.
The sponsorship total for 2007, at the presentation date was a £117,044 (see website front page for current total). The organisers are hoping that, with further late donations, the event will exceed £120k. At the presentation date 1,096 riders out of the 1,494 starters had made a donation to the sponsorship total.
